The Institute has recently joined EURIM, the European Information Society Group, by invitation.

The objective of the Institute's role is to discuss the practicality of producing guidelines or procedures, agreeable to both suppliers and users, for alternative dispute resolution with
regard to software and service contracts.

There is mounting evidence of the problems (friction, cost, delay) that arise from the application of complex and inflexible legacy contract during periods of market and technology change. It is in everybody's interest to have fair and transparent contracts to increase confidence and minimise antagonistic negotiating positions.
