Branch News: East Anglia Branch holds Annual General Meeting (AGM)

East Anglia Branch held its AGM on 26 April 2007 at the Gonville Hotel, Cambridge, where, inter alia, Bob Juniper completed his two-year term of office as Branch Chairman and handed over his Jewel of Office to his successor, Dr John Keane.  To warm applause from the assembled membership, John thanked Bob for his valuable and greatly appreciated service and presented him with the Past Chairman’s Jewel.

Commenting on his new role as Branch Chairman, Dr John Keane said:

It is a privilege to undertake the role of Chairman of the East Anglia Branch and to be supported by such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic group of colleagues currently serving on the committee. I intend to uphold the high standard of technical events which have been a hallmark of the East Anglia Branch and to do all I can to promote the aims and objectives of the Institute.

Following the formal AGM, the President of the CIArb, Hew R Dundas, addressed the Branch on the topic “The CIArb in 2007:  Changes, Initiatives and Progress” which was followed by some interesting and stimulating discussion at the bar which continued over an excellent and well-attended dinner. Among the attendees were Peter Barnes (Vice Chairman & Hon. Treasurer), Bruce Kettle (Hon. Secretary), Jonathan Nugent (PRO), Tony Bingham, Mark Cato, Neville Tait and David Simper.
