CIArb’s Communications goes from Strength to StrengthCommunications Officer appointed to further raise organisation’s profile
CIArb has today taken an important step to reinforce its position as the international organisation of excellence for dispute resolution, by appointing Noreen Shah as its new External Communications Officer. The new role will further promote the use of arbitration and ADR.
The new role will primarily focus on creating public relations (PR) strategies that effectively communicate the wealth of knowledge the CIArb currently holds, both within the organisation and across its membership. The CIArb is confident that this approach will enable it to further strengthen its profile as a thought leader and respected industry voice.
Noreen joins CIArb from the membership organisation, Intellect, the trade association for the UK’s hi-tech industry, where she was responsible for the PR department’s activities. This included managing the press office; acting as a consultant for the organisation; building media relations across trade, vertical and national press; and managing a speaker programme. In addition, Noreen successfully developed a strategic communications programme to profile the various campaigns for its members, and created a highly effective media roundtable initiative.
Commenting on her appointment, Noreen said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed the role of External Communications Officer. In this new role I look forward to injecting a fresh approach to the CIArb’s PR function. I am planning to involve members more with media opportunities and hope they take full advantage of this new position. I look forward to positioning the organisation and its members as respected industry commentators and for them to fully realise their media potential.”
