The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators announces ‘The ADR Excellence Awards 2006’ call for entriesFirst annual awards launched to recognise and reward significant achievements in the field of alternative dispute resolution in West MidlandsJanuary, 2006 - The West Midlands Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) today announced the call for entries for the ADR Excellence Awards 2006. The prestigious awards aim to recognise and celebrate excellence in the West Midlands region in the fields of arbitration, adjudication, mediation and dispute avoidance. The ADR Excellence Awards 2006, marks the 90 th birthday of the CIArb and are open to all Branch Members and practitioners in the West Midlands area. Branch members will be able to nominate themselves and their colleagues for individual and project awards by January 31, 2006. Entries will be judged by a panel of independent assessors, whose decision will be final and binding. The 2006 awards categories are:

Sarah-Jane Hudson, West Midlands branch chairman, CIArb, said: “Practitioners are not often publicly recognised by colleagues for achievements in the field of ADR. In the world of dispute resolution it’s the case that there are many unsung heroes and heroines, whose hard work for their clients has helped resolve legal conflicts or even prevented them from arising in the first place.” Hudson continued: “This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in the region who is involved in any way with dispute resolution to celebrate best practice. We’re really excited about the awards and we’ve had a great deal of encouragement from Branch members.”
Finalists will be announced prior to an awards dinner, which will take place on March 16, 2006.
